MARKETING & MEDIA GROUP FAQs
What exactly does the Media Focus Group do?
The media focus group are responsible for our social media pages, replying and responding to any questions or enquiries which most answers will be easily found on this website or from our volunteers via the contact buttons on each group section of the site, directing media enquiries to the committee, marketing, updating the website (training provided) with information and updates any of the groups might have that need to go on the website and on social media. This group also keeps an eye on key events happening in relation to the crisis and creating posts, creating awareness and liaising with media and journalists to get important stories or RFG news in the media. This might seem like a lot but when we work together and spread this throughout the members of the group then no one person is left with a lot to do.
Do I need special qualifications or experience to join this group?
For some tasks in this group skills and experience will be necessary. If you are good at social media, making digital images for social media posts then that is enough. If you are a TY student wanting to do work experience, a media and journalism student wanting to build a portfolio then our media group is an excellent place to do that and get some experience. Speak to your school, college or university about volunteering with Redress Focus Groups. Training will kindly be provided by MeanIT Web Design so that our media team can update our website so no special qualifications or skills are required for this task either
Do I have to speak to the media?
No. All external media enquiries are sent to the committee who will then work with you on it and bring in others from relevant groups who will be able to speak or give the correct info on a specific issue.
