A mental health tsunami is brewing among the thousands of affected people in mica-ridden houses, it has been claimed.
Paddy Diver, who spearheaded the campaign that led to the march in the capital, said he fears it is just a matter of time until a death occurs.
Thousands of people impacted by the defective blocks, whose houses and properties are crumbling, held a rally in Dublin on Tuesday and marched to Leinster House.
The families are demanding a 100% redress scheme to help them repair or rebuild their houses due to defects caused by a substance called mica.
The mineral absorbs water and causes homes to crack and develop structural faults.
With the Government not agreeing to provide a 100% redress scheme, the campaign is set to continue – and Paddy warned they are prepared to gather and block “the M50 and Dublin Port”.
